Verdy & Kenzo

Verdy strikes again. This time, the man behind Girls Don’t Cry and Wasted Youth collaborated with the Parisian brand; Kenzo for a special collaboration. Collaborating with his mentor, Nigo, who assumed the role of Creative Director at Kenzo in 2021, Verdy continues to push the boundaries of fashion and creativity.

Born in 1987 in Osaka Prefecture, Verdy first moved to Tokyo in 2012 and worked as part of the illustrator and graphic design group VK DESIGN WORKS. Verdy's creative genius extends beyond the likes of NEEDLES, Blackmeans, Phingerin, Whimsy Socks and UNDERCOVER. Verdy is also making waves with A$AP Rocky and Post Malone becoming admirers of his artworks while Instagram, Coachella, Dover Street Market and Budweiser are few names he makes collaborations with.

Not only making names through prominent collaborations, Verdy was appointed as the artistic director of K-POP Girl Group; BLACKPINK to create the group’s merchandise tour. This move solidified his status as a trendsetter and tastemaker in the entertainment industry.

Salah satu elemen ikonik dari desain Verdy yang hadir adalah font yang juga digunakan pada logo Girls Don’t Cry yang  menambahkan aksen unik khas Verdy di dalam koleksi spesialnya kali bersama Kenzo.

Notably known for his influences, ranging from skateboarding, hip-hop and manga, Verdy has been described as a fusion of Japanese and Western streetwear, making him the perfect creative addition to the East-meets-West vibe that Nigo has envisioned for Kenzo.
